At the Car Wash... Austin's School of Spa Technology students are throwing a fundraiser to help support their prom event in July. The money will go towards food, drinks, and decorations. The prom was suggested by the students for those who didn't attend their high school proms and will be completely payed for by the students. If you are driving in the Albany area, please stop by to support their cause: Who: Austin's School Students What: Car wash fundraiser Where: McDonalds located at 391 Central Avenue, Albany When: Saturday, June 9, 2007 from 9am - 4pm Price: $5 Cinderella Project Austin's School of Spa Technology has volunteered for two consecutive years at the Cinderella Project. Both staff/faculty and students donate their time and hair dressing talent to give the prom dress recipients remarkable and breath-taking hair makeovers. The Cinderella Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the confidence and self esteem of financially challenged young women in the Capital area. Donations of prom dresses and accessories allow the young women to participate in their school prom event without feeling the financial burden of the event. Locks of Love We are happy to report that since beginning the Locks of Love program at Austin's School, we have sent over 20lbs of hair to help in the creation of wigs for children suffering from a variety of illnesses that lead to hair loss. If you or someone you know has 10 or more inches of hair to donate to this worthy cause, please consider coming to Austin's School. Those who donate will receive a complimentary cut and style, as well as a thank you gift from the faculty, staff, and students of Austin's School.
